Matematiklærerhumor er nok en afart af farhumor. Farhumor er kendetegnet ved at
- far prøver at være sjov.
- mor ruller med øjnene og tænker på den anden mand, hun kunne have fået istedet for far.
- børnene krummer tæer på forsædet.
Matematiklærerhumoren er forskellig fra farhumor ved dens tekniske natur. Det er igen ordspil og sjove kommentarer, men de giver kun mening, hvis man har et begreb om, hvad ordene betyder. Ofte ledsages matematiklærervitsen med en form for gestikuleren.
Klassiske eksempler på matematiklærerhumoren er:
Gestik: læreren simulerer at ride på en hest. Tale: I skal finde [gestik] hypotenusen.
Pointe: HYP associeres gerne med heste. Ha-ha.
Gestik: højre hånds fingre bringes til at røre højre skulder. Tale: I skal finde [gestik] den hosliggende vinkel. Pointe: Åh gud.
Gestik: der peges ivrigt ned mod de bageste række. Tale: Så er det [gestik] rødderne vi skal finde! Pointe: En rod er dels en bad boy, der helst vil sidde nede bagved, fordi det er sejt, og dels de x for hvilke en funktion f(x) er lig med nul.
Der er formentlig talrige andre eksempler. For alles skyld, ikke mindst min eget helbreds, vil jeg ikke komme med flere klassikere, endsige opstøve flere.
Denne post er til fordi jeg selv - i dag - ubevidst begav mig ud i matematiklærerhumoren. Jeg skulle forklare betydningen af uendeligt for mine elever. Altså, når man for eksempel skriver 1/3 som decimaltal og får 0.3333333... (uendeligt mange tretaller). Jeg sagde: "... og så får I altså en masse tretaller. 33333.. 333 .. 3 .. 333 .. .3... . Indtil I ikke kan se skoven for bare tre'er."
